Internet TV --- A Fascinating Evolution In This Generation

In this technological era, one would surely say that TV and internet are key factors or driving forces that push technology forward.  The speed of technological changes wouldn’t be this fast or strong without the help and aid of internet and TV.  What’s even more fascinating is that internet and TV has combined its forces creating the soon-to-be new age of audio-visual communications --- the Internet TV.  Some people may have started using this, while there are still those who may not have heard of this yet, but one thing for sure, in the very near future, it will be a household name already.

If TV has been supported through cable, satellite, and terrestrial systems, now, it has availed of the increased connection speeds and advancement of technology of the Internet.  People can already view TV programming through the Internet, which would mean that sooner or later, people will prefer to access this than traditional TV as Internet TV would be more convenient and accessible by then.  There is even Internet-only TV content that can only be accessed through Internet TV and not distributed through the traditional systems.

Internet TV has become accessible through these media channels: regular TV (through a Set-up box), computer, and portable devices (like mobile phones); and one can opt to watch a regular TV channel or select a show on demand.  However, Internet TV has been continually developed, because it still has features that need enhancement---like its streaming technology which is still of low quality and quite costly.

European and Asian countries have started investing and using Internet TV already, and there are others that rode on this bandwagon as well.  In the coming years, more and more countries worldwide will surely be utilizing this technology.

Currently, Internet TV is based on two models: the fee and free - based Internet TV.  Under the fee based, subscribers pay a fee like the traditional cable, satellite, or terrestrial systems, but it has added features like HDTV, video-on-demand, and digital video recording.  Under the free based, individuals can access it via the Web, meaning everybody can access it.

Internet TV will truly move and carry this era to the new age of technology.  Through this, people can get updated regularly of everything going on around the globe, and broadcasters can reach a wider range of audience especially their niche market.
